Need a iPod\Zune head unit
What's a nice Head unit that I can hook my Zune up to. I have this Zune full of stuff, and want to use it. I'm sure whatever you can hook up an iPod to, it'll work for a Zune. So what good head units are out there that I'd want to get?
no idea what a zune is, but anything like alpine or pioneer ipod specific adapters wont work for your thing. your best bet is a fm transmitter. sadly i have yet to see a quality one. g/l
Not true at all. Any head unit that has RCA style inputs will work fine. All you'll need is an RCA to mini stereo adapter cable, and you can plug it into any normal music player - including your Zune.Sounds like a helluva badass Z28 you've got there. Bored LT1? Any specs/numbers?

Well I've had the LT1 since 95. I'm using stock rods and crank with TRW "blower" pistons. That's where the .030 over(355) came in. Heads and intake are ported. I dropped a vortech SQ S-Trim w/aftercooler(air to water intercooler) on it. Tranny done up, 12 bolt rearend. Hooker long tube headers w/4" exhaust through a spintech muffler. It does 550 to the wheels as it sits right now, but in two weeks it goes back under the knife. The vortech/aftercooler is comming off, and a turbokit is going on. I'm dropping a T76 with a bigger air to water cooler on it, and transfering my topend to a built for the 383 bottomend a 8to1 cr. I do that 2 weekends from now. My target is around 750 at the wheels for now. With the T76 on a 383 I could get probably get maybe 900 out of it, but I'd need an LT4 intake w/AFR210 heads. I may get those in the future. I'll just have to see where it goes after I get this stuff in and tuned. Then I'll put the EVO up for alittle bit and drive the Z28 around. I plan on doing meth inj. with it as well. Make it pass emissions, and tag that sucker for some street and track action. It's starting to get nuts here in nashville. Everybody has a fast car here it seems.

I have an Alpine HU that has available adapter cables for RCA input and USB devices. The USB interface allows control from the HU and display of song info.
I'm personally using the Ipod interface cable that works great.

What's the model number? Does has a USB port in the front.
I have the Alpine 9885, and the Ipod control cable attaches to the back, and I routed it to the glovebox. I think all headunits from 9883-up accept the AUX-in and Ipod accessories, but check the specs. here: Alpine CD/MP3 Receivers
Also check out the Kenwood Headunits
Pioneer Headunits also offer built-in AUX-in and Ipod control.

Generally any head unit that has CD changer input or generic "aux" input works. These same stereo manufacturers are starting to offer cables specific for IPOD input. I just did this with a blaupunkt unit. An extra 40 cable and my Ipod is good to go. The advantage of this over just RCA input is that the cable will charge your ipod while you drive.

I found out I can get my Zunwe to play on the head unit I have. I'll get an ALPINE AUXILIARY ADAPTER REPLACES KCA-121B ALP-AUX. Then I got a RCA to mini jack that fits in the Zune like the headphones do. I'll select the "CD changer" option. Then play the Zune through that.
