Viper remote programming

hello everyone...

first refer to the remote i won off of ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...7327&rd=1&rd=1

now, when programming a remote, i thought you had to physically be close to the vehicle to program it? If not, how can they? sorry if this q seems kind of newbish, but the most i can do w/ alarms is pressing the button to 'arm/disarm' and that's pretty much it...

Make sure you know where your valet button is.

1. Open driver door.
2. turn igntion to on position.
3, Press valet button, release and press and hold, should here a chirp. While holding down the valet button after the chirp, press the lock button on the remote. Should hear another chirp.
4 Release the valet button, shut the key off, should make a long chirp now.

That is it. If this does not work, I ned to know the exact model number remote you have.

you need to make sure the remote you bought is compatible with your alarm system, not all viper remotes program to all viper systems

actually i can't even get the alarm to 'chirp' when i press the valet button...i was looking forever to replace my remote - one of the key specs of mine is that it is a 489V vs. the 479V that's always up on ebay...

Open door
Turn key to on position, not start
Press valet button, release, press and hold.

Then you will hear the chirp.
