I need opinions on the Nav unit!

Well, I've ordered from Orbital but they disappeared from the earth(I guess) and I wanted to see if I got any good 1 din nav units that you folks can recommend. I'll still wait, but I'm not gonna wait forever...
I have a feeling that 1 din nav are going out of style, as I don't find a comparable ones like pioneer z1/2, kenwood dnx7100, Eclipse...
So what you folks suggest?
also, it is really difficult to do a 2 din conversion? Is onl;y orbital the option I have? I did a very general search, but nothing concrete....

Thanks guys&gals!

Eclipse has a psuedo-nav single din unit a few years back. It is not even worth your time. Unfortunately for you, your choices are the Jvc unit you mentioned, Pioneer Avic-N1-2-3, or an Alpine,Clarion,Kenwood flipout unit with navigation hideaway addon. I thought Eclipse had flipout nav units a while back. Good luck bro.

I don't think jensen or dual have navi do they? Just cheap dvd indash? We have the Pioneer AVIC-Z1 in the IX but I would like to get something a little cheaper for my rs I would even by a junk jensen or dual if the navi functioned well but never seen one? The single din jvc is nice and you can get it cheap at abes of maine !

orbital conversion is not hard at all....comes with a step by step photo manual so even newbs will have no trouble!

I have the pioneer z1 and i love it.

just so you guys know, Eclipse makes a single din flipout nav without a brain it's the AVN7000 and it's HDD based so unlike the N1/N2/N3 you dont need to remove the dvd to put in a cd or movie. Also Dual DOES make nav and honestly, for the most part nav's are based off the same software. Dual makes it in both configs, double din and single din flip out. If you did want pioneer or kenwood you could do a single din flipout with the brand specfic nav like i do. I have pioneer's avh-p7500dvd and add on Avic-88dvd nav. you actually get the best of everything that way since's all in one units they leave some lesser features out to make it all work in one chasis. just my 2cents

I'm going for kenwood dnx7100...was debating for z2, but I figure I'll give kenwood a try(I have n1 right now, need upgrade )

Go with the AVN7000, that's what i rock. Eclipse has metal gears, it'll last forever. Downside of eclipse, you MUST hookup speed sense wire.

Pioneer's are less forgiving with it not hooked up. Tap into the wire at ECU under glove box.

I hope you don't regret going kenwood. Everyone i know has had problems including me with 5 different stereo's from them. 1 nav unit, and 4 xcelon decks. To each his own though, i hope you have good luck with them.

the kenwood dnx looks pretty solid...
I am still debating for z2, but my wife likes the kenwood, and it's a good chance to change, I've always had pioneer products in all my cars...so I'll see...
