orbital double din/ avic z1 install questions?? please help!

Orbital questions: I couldn't wait for the orbital kits to be available again so I bought one used but no instructions. Can anyone give me a Step by step how to on it? Also how long/ hard is it to do? what tools are needed and how do you move the hvac controlls are their enough wireing for them?
AVIC Z1 questions: I have done radio installs before I plan on buying a harness from circuit city or tweeter who ever has it in stock. But what else is involved with this install. Where do I tap the parking brake wire also what color wire do I tap. Where is the best place to mount the gps antenna? Any way to bypass the dvd/nav while driving lock outs? Any Ideas on how to secure the unit to make it very hard to steal? Any pics of your installs would be great!
thanks
John

some help for the Orbital kit

As for the Z1...I'm having a friend of mine install mine.

Concerning securing the unit/making it hard for theft...I hate to say it again, but if they want it bad enough they'll take it. Just get a good alarm, dont drive in any bad areas and just...watch out.

i think you can mount the gps navi above your rear-view mirror.

for wiring questions check a wiring diagram...i have no clue.

if you need help with a bypass check out avic411.com. you can either flash the headlights 3(?) times each time you start the car...or there is a bypass that ducatiboy on that forum makes.

like i said before...for securing it? not sure there is a way...

Same here, the alpine manual even suggested it.

I have an older pioneer nav in my other car and to remove the nav lock out while driving I just hooked the parking brake wire to a 12v source if I remember correctly. That way it always thinks the parking brake is up.
