stock to aftermarket
stock to aftermarket
hey i was attempting to install an aftermarket pioneer head unit in my 05 Evo. I noticed when i unhooked the stock stereo there was a round 6 pin connector. my Pioneer HU doesnt have this connector for it. i know if it is not plugged in to either head units no sound will play.
anybody know what this plug is and how i can adapt my pioneer HU with this into my car so it plays the sound?

Sounds like you have an SSL and need the Metra wiring adaptor. It's an adaptor that plugs into that six-pin cable and will have two sets or RCAs and a remore turn on wire. That allows you to use the factory Infinity amp. Do a search for "metra" and you should find a few threads about it that will have links to places you can buy it.
You may or may not have a 6-cd changer. Not sure where it would be located if you had one. Check under the seats or in the trunk. If not there, you probably don't have one.
I think the IX SSL has the 6 disc changer, and its usualy located in the DIN slot where the cubby is, or where they put the gauge package for the MRs and RSs.
