What to do without wing?

I removed my wing the first weekend I had my car as I use the car for work purposes and needed to pull off the sedan look.. I also like the car being more low key..

I'm at a loss as to what to do with all the holes it left in my trunk.. what has everyone else done? I don't know if I want to get them permanently sealed up at a body shop in case I get a wild hair and decide to throw it back on.

any help would be greatly appreciated

I put on Vinyl Overlays (stickers).... I picked them up at a local sign shop...(Fast Signs) for free. They could have charged me but they didn't...otherwise I would guesstimate no more than 10-20 bucks for a sheet of these overlays...

what a good idea.. someone has suggested the vinyl to me as a graphic... my only concern would be it sealing.. how long have you had yours on for?

Since I've taken the wing off and it is still on tight...no leaks what-so-ever. Highly recommend this approach over sealing holes...that way you can always put the wing back on....with all the extra overlays I got....I have no reason to worry.....

What color is your Evo? Silver? I'll mail ya some for free. I have extras.

Go to the junkyard and buy a spare trunk off of any wingless Lancer.

Get the rexpeed spoiler. You can order them painted any factory color for 40 extra ($235 painted I think). I think the small spoiler looks better than wingless - IMO.

Put the wing back on! J/K. My buddy has the same problem. He took his wing off and still hasn't done anything with the holes.

To be honest, other then maybe your excuse, I can't figure why anyone would want to get rid of the spoiler. IMO, that's the Evo's trademark. My buddie's car just doesn't look the same anymore.

yea, well no one really has tried to race me since I took it off.. it takes rice boys about 45 seconds longer to figure out its an evo..

the funny part about it being off.. I rolled into work with the new car, no one said anything.. a co-worker got a 350z and everyone is out in the parking lot ooh'ing and awing.. I held my tongue and laughed to myself..

I don't mind being low key..

i'm doing the same thing in the coming weeks. Starting a new job and want the low key sedan look not the boy racer look. Also why I went with TB, the hood vent and some of the body lines don't stand out as much. If only VII tails weren't so expensive they'd be on too.

A board member gave me one of the low lancer spoilers that came stock on some of the '03's and I'm gonna try that for a while but every time I see a lancer I think it's ugly so I may eventually go wingless too.

x2 on the resourceful guys. Refrigerator magnets made me laugh, but definetly a good idea. Oh and for reference I've used electrical tape to fill a few holes on my DSM for the last 5 years. I don't think they leak, but at the same time the last time I looked at my spare it was in 4-5 inches of water Nothing else in the trunk was wet though

Here is my wing-less '03 EVO VIII.

I used some black plastic body panel fasteners. I had to cut them shorter and they are held in by a little bit of clear silicone under the "head".

I think the Apex Silver EVOs have a very unique "industrial" look that I really like. The black "rivets" kind of fit with the "industrial" look, IMNSHO.
