special tool to remove steering wheel?

I am trying to remove the steering wheel - the PDF manual calls for a hexagonal bit - looks like a torx bit almost...

Anyone know what size and where I could buy one of these? Would sears have it perhaps?

Thanks!

Would that be an ALLEN wrench. does it give a size? Could even mean a 6pt socket.

One thread said 6 or 8mm allen, but when I looked in at the bolt, it was starish shaped like those torx bits on a harley. Maybe I am looking at the wrong bolt.

I am trying to remove airbag and steering - there seem to be no how-to's on it

There is a how to somewhere I remember reading it a little bit. Some Torx screws have a definite star to them and others are suttle. I have never considered taking the steering wheel off. There is I thing in the how to section something called "The Mike Mod" I believe the guy took off the steering wheel and painted the trim ring along with the shifter trim ring also.

Thats the one I mentioned earlier which referred to allen bolt which is why I was surprised - hex on the other, perhaps? Perhaps I was looking on the right side as this one says left - thanks man! Appreciate the effort you have put in trying to help.

It's an 8mm allen wrench. Lots of people say 10mm for some reason, but THAT IS NOT TRUE AS I JUST DID THIS DAYS AGO. The star looking ones DO NOT GET TOUCHED.

It's on the lower left side of the wheel base.

Sorry for the caps, I just hate getting out on the job with the wrong tools from inaccurate how-to info.

I bumped it because I got the answer to a question I had... I bumped it so I can pull it up later.
