Help with deck!!!

Hey guys need some help with my deck that I put in this weekend.

I bought a Pioneer A5900DVD flip out screen. Install was fine, no problems with fitment an all that jazz. I read through the instruction manual and on pioneer to help me with my problem but to no avail. The problem is that sometimes when the stereo is goin it will all of a sudden mute. Jiggle some of the wires in the back and it goes away. So I figured something was grounding out, checked all the wires and taped up any loose ends just in case. Also, when I close the flipout screen it also goes into mute, it didn't do it before and now its doing it, and I don't understand why.

Now there was a mute wire coming off the deck, but there was nothing for it to hook up to on the harness, or any information on it in the installation manual. Checked the whole pamphlet and on Pioneers website and nothing about that. I'm still waiting on a response from a rep, but no one has gotten back to me. Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?

That mute wire shouldn't be connected to anything. Its end should be coverred with electrical tape, a butt connector, or heat shrink tubing. Also, make sure the insulation on that wire has not been pinched or cut. Ensure it is not grounding out to the chassis or another wire.

+1 For what NoTec says, I would insulate that wire and zip tie the whole wire as close as i could to the back of the radio itself to avoid that wire from moving.

already did, its not connected to anything and its electrical taped down. its directed away from the deck. the wire is wrapped in electrical tape as are the other wires that aren't connected to anything. any idea on why when it closes it goes into the mute mode? it only plays when the screen is out. it didn't do it before. thanks for the input guys
