power wire from amp to the battery

power wire from amp to the battery

I'm sure this has been covered but wasn't sure what to type in the search.....where do you go through the firewall to connect the power wire of the sub amp to the car battery?....any pics would be helpful

You can either 1) Look for a plug in the firewall or 2) drill your own hole, just make sure to use a rubber groment so you don't shred the insulation around the wire. GL

Apparently there's a plug on the passenger side, but I've yet to find it.

yeah i was trying to avoid drilling a hole...if anyone knows where the plug is please let us know

I found a picture of a plug, but it was on an 8 and it looked like it's where that cylinder looking thing with all the brake lines running to/from it is. I'm assuming 8s don't have that cuz I didn't see it in the pic. That's my guess.

well I just used the grommet that goes out behind the front fender...there's one under both front fenders of the car....i put a small powered amp under the passenger's seat and ran the power wire out the passenger side ...had to pull back the inner fender well (plastic) to run the wire......ran it up into the engine compartment where the windshield washer fluid hose goes into the engine area then across to the battery....just a little pain since you have to jack the car up to get under the plastic fender well to run the wire
