Auxilary input..

Hello everyone. I just bought my EVO Saturday and am super excited and understand well and full what I've gotten into, BUT I'm a nerd and like to listen to my Zune in my car. I was wondering if there was a fairly simple way to add an auxiliary input off of the stock head unit. I have an '06 SE and I think I have the normal radio, but I'm not sure how to check. It sounds really good to me, but the head unit doesn't actually say "Infinity" on it? I guess I have two questions then: How can I tell exactly which stereo I have and can I add an auxiliary input for my Zune? Thanks for the input!

To my knowledge it hasn't been answered yet... you may do a google search for mitsubishi cd changer pinout and get a schematic for that, and see if you can fab one... I did it for my wifes car a few years ago... worked flawlessly...

purchase the harness for it, and a Head unit with an aux-in on the front, and buy the cable. It's not bad at all. Just match colors!

Are there clean disassembly instructions for the dash to get to the radio somewhere? I know I'm being whiny, but I'm just nervous about getting it apart. I have definitely decided to go with a decent Clarion head unit that plays MP3 discs and has an auxiliary input. Thinking of routing the aux in stereo jack through the front ashtray..

I routed my "iPod" cable into the center console cubby... if you pop the hinge off, there is enough room to route the cable there and the console will still close with no problems and your music player will be out of sight. I have an alpine with direct ipod connection and I never take my ipod out of the car cause it charges it too...

Easy...
1. Take off the HVAC knobs.
2. Remove the two screws on the face of the HVAC assy.
3. Remove the Radio trim/bezel carefully!
4. Remove the 4 screws from the braket holding in the stereo in place.
5. Remove stereo...
