viper alarm help!asap!!

hey guys,

ok so today after class I was walking to my car.I pushed the buttong and nothing happened.I checked the screen and it was blank.I changed the battery, and still nothing. So i open my door with the key and obviously the alarm went off.I unplugged the negative on the battery, and plugged it back in.The car started, but the alarm kept going off!

so i disconected the siren ground cable, but the lights kept flickering on and off.I just got home, and unplugged the battery completely.

What can i do for right now without having to buy a replacement remote? When i go connect the battery back, will the alarm still be on?

this is the remote i have that broke

http://www.drdetailshop.com/479V.htm

it sucks. Can i replace it with something more simple?i dont have remote start.thank you!

Yes the alarm should still be going off when you reconnect the battery until it finishes the cycle. It will still be armed though. You need a remote or unplug the alarm itself (should still go off/be armed when plugged back in though). You can get a cheaper alternate remote without the lcd from Bestbuy, or any other viper dealer.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the lifetime warranty applies to remotes.

Alarms pull very little off the battery. Cheap brands may pull more than say viper or a dei product. Sounds like the installer did a poor job and didn't hook it up right. I can let my car sit for a month with the alarm armed and it will still fire up every time.
