Wire harness
Wire harness
I Just bought an Evo ix and I tried to install a Dual dvd player but the wire harness that best buy gave me seems to be wrong? Anyways, I tried matching up the wires ect and the deck didn't turn on. It worked perfectly in my recent car (sti) with the Subi harness BB gave me . Took a picture of the harness..right or wrong?

Ok, I am sure this is the wrong harness now. A lot of people say Bestbuy doesn't offer the one I need. I hear there is Three different harnesses for Mitsubishi. The 70xxxxxx, 71xxxxxx, and 81,xxxx..
Can someone confirm which is the right one?

I can't help you make it work, but I can say that Best Buy for sure doesn't sell a harness for an Evo. I tried to buy one and they told me that they don't carry the harness I need at any stores.

If your evo doesn't have the SSL package then the harness you would need from bestbuy is the metra 70-7001 or 71-7001, Can't remember the first two digits but it should have the numbers 7001 in it. The prefix before the 7001 just determines what type of cable it is, Smart harness, pigtails, and I believe there's also a male connector as well but I think that one is like 79-7001.
As someone said earlier, There is no ground on your car so you would have it out from the radio's harness.
If bestbuy doesn't have the harness, You can check cartoys for one. They should have one though since the harness is common among most Mitsubishi's unless you have the SSL package.

If it is not turning on AT ALL with either harness, its either your power or ground. Make sure that black wire on the radio harness is grounded out somewhere. If it is but its still not turning on, check your fuses.
The wiring harness on the top left is the generic mitsu harness for most radios.
The wiring harness on the bottom left is for the factory amplified systems, in which you would need the other harness that gives you front and rear rcas for your speaker connections.
Hope this helps
