python alarm - I R noob
I bought a Python alarm, which worked great, couple of years ago and the siren has now stopped chirpping. The odd thing is if I hold on the panic button, the sirens work normally but lock/unlock does not emit sound anymore nor does activating the shock sensors. Is it time for a new alarm? I also have 2 sirens with 1 outside and 1 inside and they both stopped working at the same time. Yes, I found asking you guys easier than calling Python themselves(Circuit city is now closed). Thanks for helping.

Hmm.. Did some of the buttons get randomly pressed while the key fob was in your pocket? It sounds like the alarm may be on Valet mode, but usually the alarm would still go off if the shock sensor is triggered.
Best thing I can think of is to find a way to restore the alarm to default settings in case something was pressed to change some of the settings. But usually the shock sensor would still go off, That's not really something you can turn off.
When the alarm is armed and you open the door, Does the siren go off? You might have to wait 30 seconds for the alarm to be armed after you press the arm button.

The best thing I can think of is to reset the alarm to default settings. Not exactly sure how to do that, Or take it to an audio shop but they may charge you. They have a bitwritter tool that can plug into the brain of the alarm and change the settings. You could contact DEI and see if there is a way to reset it or check the manual.
I wish I could help you more, but the best I can come up with is a defective alarm brain. Even if the shock sensor was defective, opening the door when the car is armed should have triggered the alarm. The siren isn't defective and is plugged in since the panic button works. So it leads me to believe something within the alarm itself is messed up or some weird setting.
Try contacting DEI since you've tested out a few things and tell them about your situation. I believe they offer lifetime warranted on their products when their professionally installed.

If the LED is solid then the unit is in Valet mode.....I know you said that you checked that but that is what the LED is indicating. If you have access to the valet button, try turning the igntion on, then off. Then just push the valet button...that should turn the LED off and NOT solid anymore. The alarm should chirp and go off now. Hope that helps
