Defi Wiring Advice

I am looking for some wiring advice, I have the Defi Racer Gauges ... 3 gauges. Before anyone saids "do a search" I have done searches ... and all the tread that I have found talk about how to wire the control box. Since these gauges are "Stand-A-Lone" they dont need a control box. Below are some questions ...

1) Instructions say to power the gauges independently from each other. Im assuming that it means 3 separate power supplies. I am planning on running the wires to the fuse box and tie into the radio, cig lighter, & rear wiper fuses. Any problems with that or is there a better solution?

2) For ignition can I tie the 3 gauges into 1 ignition source? Instructions dont mention anything about being independent from each other. Also is there an ignition source near the fuse box?

3) For Illumination can I tie the 3 gauges into 1 illumination source? Instructions dont mention anything about being independent from each other. Also is there an illumination source near the fuse box?

1) I think what the instructions mean by independently from each other is they don’t want you to daisy chain them from each other, IE gauge#1 to +12v source, gauge#2 tapped into the actually gauge#1 +12v wire, gauge#3 tapped into gauge#2 +12v wire.

If I were you and I was trying to avoid messing with the factory constant +12v source for accessories I would run a wire (size gauge would depend on what I was running) from the battery with and inline fuse/circuit breaker to some where inside the cabin behind the dash. From there I would purchase a sealable terminal board with multiple posts, that way I can easily add and take away accessories with ease.

2) yes you can, but if you don’t want to run all those gauges off that one wire you can go deeper with my suggestion and add a relay to one of the post and just run the relay off the ignition.

3) Yes

I need to draw a picture so what I suggested made more sense

EDIT**Here is what i am talking about:

To me it minimizes tapping into factory wiring and limits any future issues that might occur from using factory harness. Also makes troubleshooting easy with things that you install on your car.

Thanks that was helpful. What I ended up doing was to run the power wire to the fuse box and us Doupler (sp?), so all 3 12v wire are going to 3 different fuses. As for the Illumination wires I tied them together and tapped into the cig lighter using disconnects. Also did the same with the Ignition wiring. So far everything seems to be operating correctly.
