Two mini-bats would be asinine IMO lol. I don't really have to crank the volume too much to 'feel' the thump, I have it tuned fairly well (as well as a novice can), but mostly the sound quality I achieved is from a properly sized enclosure (1.5-2 cubic feet per sub requirements) bolted to the car, not just sitting in a box in the trunk.

For decks, I didn't use the Alpine 9887, but instead went with a Kennwood KIV BT-900. I dig the setup, even on OE door speakers.

While the car is at speed Honestly, I have a hard time taking something like this on face value, given the time, effort, and the sheer number of tuning/installation permutations that all pointed in the same direction. As it sits, the driver is too insensitive to overcome the low frequency noise generated by the car, itself, and you don't have enough power to drive it to sufficient amplitude without bringing about an absurd amount of distortion. Essentially, an undefined blob of bass. Then there's the impact of the structural rigidity of the car. Add the weight of a couple of cubes of MDF and the driver/amp, and what is the sonic value (if you will) of the end result, when something better sounding can be had without the drawbacks? I hope you see where I'm going with this.

Your amp has an adjustable subsonic (infrasonic) filter and a fully configurable 1-band PEQ. Try rolling off the bass at 24dB/octave at ~50Hz with the filter. It'll do a lot to clean up the rest of the spectrum, as well as tap less power from the amp. You won't be fighting the car as much. Then you can use to PEQ to zero-in the sound.

I've posted in many other threads; perhaps you can bring those back, too.

1. That's helpful; the additional full-size, deep cycle battery certainly adds to the pool of experience with lightweight mini-battery replacements.

2. As mentioned ad nauseum, citing wattage in a vacuum has zero relevance. It's the current draw that counts.

A high-excursion driver like a W7 is arguably the worst possible choice for this car.
