Did you look to see if the heater core connected? If you suspect thats the problem its a good place to start and its simple to look and see.

Under the dash, just above the gas pedal on the white box which would be your blend door... have a buddy turn the knob to the heat side and then back and forth while u look under the dash until u see the problem. The blend door has to be closed for your heat to work. So turn the knob to heat and push up on the gear/door. It sounds complicated but its easy. Happens to a lot of evos and the cable that controls your heat is a good amount of money. In no time you will figure out how to do it while you are driving. Lol
