I think that you should seal and deaden the doors, and buy the whichever speakers you want. Later on, if you're not happy with the sound, you can pop the stockers back in and compare. Good luck.

So are there any write ups from start to finish that explain exactly how to go about properly sound-deadening your car for as cheap as possible? I went to the site you posted but there weren't any DIY write ups.

Cheap doesn't figure into this. Here's a link to a thread illustrating the process, but you'll have to register on SSA:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ore-quiet.html

An Evo can be made significantly quieter, but it's a lot of work, even more effort, it's quite costly, and it adds a lot of weight (MLV is ~1lb/ft2). I'd just buy another car, if this is of importance, or appreciate the Evolution for what it is.

It's not for an Evo

I dont thinks evos were made for killer systems. They were made for killer motors!!! I would rather spend money on that lil 4 cylinder monster engine and jam with it. Just a though!!!!

The factory speakers are surprisingly revealing. Here is a list of good amplifiers that fit into the Evo's interior:

FWIW, I have 2 amps for sale that are perfect for this. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

The speakers that come with the car. There's no brand attached to them.
