Flip-up Nav

Hello, im thinking about putting a nav flip up unit, im thinking putting it on the top slot on the dash and moving my gauges to the bottom one where my radio currently is. what is a good nav flip-up unit that has good interface for navigating easily and good quality, has anyone done this? also one that supports a back up camera option. thanks

I have a Pioneer Avic-N5 in mine. Nice, but the nav functionality sucks. Look toward kenwood for that.

But the Avic unit has cool gauges(clock,g meters, etc)

I would go with Alpine or Eclipse. I know Eclipse doesn't make aftermarket stuff anymore but the older stuff is great. I had a pioneer avic d3 and I couldn't stand the sound quality that came out of it.

Has anyone successfully installed a flip-up with the radio relocation kit? I know it would be a tight fit but just curious if anyone has been able to perform this intall.

yes i was able to successfully install a in dash nav/dvd with a radio relocation kit. it sticks out a little bit but really not that noticeable. you just need to move the bracket over and adjust your tilt. one downside to this is that you can't use the 2 screws to attach and are forced to use 3m double sided tape. but no problems.

I had a panasonic in my VIII, it held up well. Don't know if it is as advanced as some of the pioneer units but it was enough for me.
