rear speakers no work

so i bought my IX used and it has a sony head unit in it. blech. anyway, i have the ssl, and only the front speakers and sub work. nothing out of the rears. any ideas? i would rather have the fronts and the rears and just do the sub with my own

ninja edit: it has the proper harness installed, it has two sets of rca's as part of it

You need to change the rear preout setting on the sony deck from subwoofer to full, should be in the instruction manual somewhere for how to change this setting.

Does your head unit have 4 preouts or 6? If it only has 4 then the owner probably wired the rca's to the sub and then you won't have a signal to the rear speakers.

I haven't pulled my hu out to look. i thought the factory hu has a din cable and we can buy a mitah adapter to hook in and only use 4 pre outs. why do you have 6? do all ssl have 6? I have an ssl.

i removed the infiniti sub and put in my own

elemental designs 13.5 in a vented box. at first i was wondering how much faster i would be without the extra 100 lbs of subwoofer in the trunk, but then i realized its probably the only thing helping traction when i go into boost
