I just picked up a Viper 5902with the HD color supercode SST 2-way security and remote start. basicly im a noob when it comes to this kind of stuff so im haveing a friend helping me put it in and yesterday he asked me if my key was chipped and i have no clue. so my question is does my 2005 evo 8 RS have a chipped key??

Yup should b chipped , about doing remote start u would just make sure you won't ever need your 2nd key .

 

Or you could just disable the immobilizer with the tephra ROM if you're tuning it yourself.
