Thank you Mitsu for keeping the factory head unit harness the same!

I was perfectly happy with the audio quality of the stock non-SSL in my new IX MR but the lack of AUX input was unacceptable. Miraculously, Mitsu hasn't changed their 14-pin wire harness or antenna connector for 20 years! I swapped my good ol' JVC KD-SH99 head unit from 2001 out of my Talon into the Evo in 20 minutes. The stock head unit brackets were a direct fit onto the JVC too, I didn't have to spend a single penny on adapters or trim kits and now I have AUX in

You can modify the stock radio to have AUX input by wiring in a audio connector into the FM module inside of the head unit. Total cost was just a little bit over $2

Follow this tutorial and the wires go into pin number 5 and 6.

Yea, I saw that - interesting that the FM module is the same as in Subaru head units! However, my SH-99 also plays MP3 discs which I have a lot of
