So threw a bracket together real quick out of some scrap.

It’s been raining here every day so haven’t had much time to work on it. I want to paint it but humidity is high here now. Spent quite a bit drilling the 2 bottom holes and rethreading since the previous owner broke both bolts in the holes. I think for rushing through it it came out ok. You can see the rats nest back there. All that will be fixed and nicely done with the evo x fuseable link. Hope the wires reach.

when you read off your measurements I was afraid it was going to look something like that. Pretty hazardous to say the least. Taking on this project was definitely a good idea.

Yeah good thing. Now, with this bracket I’m afraid the cables won’t reach. Is it ok to use a splice kit on the 2 cables that doesn’t reach?

This is exactly how I did mine. Check my thread for my photos and work. I also powder-coated it when I was done. I also fabricated a tig welded bracket for the box in the back.

It's fine to extend the wires, just use the appropriate parts/technique for the wire gauge.

Omfg...I decided to start checking the wires. Look at this guys. They put it together with tape. I think it’s the alternators. Wow. I’m going to have to go through the whole thing. I’m so angry. Wtf...!!!!!

Holy crap what a fire hazard. You have some good karma or something because that could easily have resulted in fire.

Yeah no wonder car was having electrical gremlins wow. I went over all the grounds on the engine bay cleaning them up. Tomorrow I hope to wire it all up. I bought 2 splice kits from Lowe’s. I hope that’s the correct way to lengthen those wires.

Looking really good

The chassis ground point I have circled in yellow wasn't really meant to handle the full load of the starter, it was really meant to just be a chassis tie in for the battery. That cable would normally terminate directly to the battery negative terminal. So if it was me, I would add an additional chassis ground and then connect it back to that circled ground point with some 4 gauge or something. You could also just relocate it to a more solid place on the chassis. Sorry I meant to post about this earlier. If it doesn't get hot or anything while cranking or with all the stuff running then its probably fine as is.

Ok thx. I have extra 2 awg wire and also have the 4 awg I removed that was going to the battery before. Where do you recommend I tie it into? Maybe the existing transmission ground? From there to what’s circled in yellow? I wouldn’t mind adding some grounds I just don’t know where.
