Intermittent Key Fob operation

How's everybody doin? LONG, long time since I've been here.

I have a curious question: I've seen on STM where they stated the (discontinued) "525" model remotes would work on the 7. So I bought one used off Ebay to try and found that while it programmed, it didn't work properly. Thought it perhaps was a faulty remote as it's used, but bought two more and they did the same thing, but I cannot pinpoint what could cause it even after the usual change batteries, etc:

-Sometimes I could unlock the car from 10 feet away (usually 10, dunno why) and other times it won't even work. Mostly if I put it right on the door lock or even on the lower center windscreen, it may engage.
-Sometimes I could sit at home and engage it one hr, then next couple, it won't work good or at all, then randomly later on in the day or night it works great.
-Cleaned the boards, changed batteries, had the car at full charge (I heard if the car was low on battery power, it could cause that) and still same, intermittent range if it worked at all.

Now I don't really know if it's interference or something faulty. I've tried to assume radio frequency cause 315mhz I believe may be more susceptible to interference, but I can't figure out what would cause it. I do have a viper alarm installed (though been in valet mode but I dunno if that has any interference to the system. (shrugs). I do have a couple other cars parked near it in my yard but they don't use any keyless remotes. So I thought I would ask you all if you ever experienced this and perhaps is it a common thing or is there some tweak that's needed to have the operation more consistent.

Also, I happened to get a cheap used OEM key off Ebay as well (OUCJ166jN). Seller said they have to be deprogrammed to be used, but the question is more have any of the later remotes for the Mitsu models ever been tried on the 7-8-9 and worked? and can the newer used remotes be deprogrammed manually?

This is interesting. I had a similar issue that just ended up being the battery in the remote but yours sounds a little different than that.
Maybe someone with a little better idea will chime in.

You could try and verify the car antenna is all ok? I am not 100% sure how they are setup on these but I know that was something that you could change on older VW models to get longer range remote locks.

8 MONTHS! Thats how long I suffered with these freaking key fobs having to constantly remove the key to unlock the door & push the fob hard into the push button to start my car. I thought it was weird that both fobs died at the same time when I only use one and keep the other in a drawer for service use only, but I changed both batteries and still nothing. YouTubed back then but sadly never was shown YOUR VIDEO. Could’ve saved me 8 months of aggravation. as i see using ma favorite apps like snaptube and vidmate Found this last night and just tried it and lo & behold I heard the sweet sweet sound that I haven’t heard in months, BEEP BEEP. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

My fob issue is slightly different. I have a mystery radio signal that wakes my vehicle computer up in my driveway and drains the battery. My dealership says this occasionally happens in certain areas or certain vehicles.
