Comm. w ELC & OEM Fuel Pump..... isnt it adequate?

I've just realised that i was having slight misfiring with my VII. I went to pluck in the OBT sensor and found out that i have a fault code of 61 :- Communication with ELC 4AT/5AT. Anyone could help enlighten me on this matter? I am getting annoyed with the car now.

Secondly, I removed all my spark plugs and found that its was whitish, and to my knowledge, my car was running too lean on fuel. I've corresponded with several other friends from other states who drives an evo and all of them had told me that they have problems with the fuel pump not being able to supply enough pressure. Have you guys encountered this before? My other thoughts would be my Throttle Positioning Sensor is giving problems.

Please assist, thanks.

Search this board and you will find many disagree, but there is too much information to ignore... many believe that the OE pump gives up under sustained load...
