I just had a used oil analysis done when I did my 22.5k oil change. Oil had about 3750 on it and I have been using Amsoil 10W30 for the past 7500 miles. From a wear perspective, my results don't seem any better than when I was running Mobil 1, so I may go back to that as it is easier and cheaper to get. Anyway, here is the analysis...

Hey that is cool information, but just curious as to why you had this analysis done? How much did it cost you?

 

cool. I'm also doing a analysis at my next oil change in about 700 miles (18,700miles). A oil analysis is good piece of mine. How much did you pay for yours?

 

are you prolonging the oil changes?

excellent! someone else doing oil analysis too! I hope you don't mind, but I'll post my lastest too for comparison sake. Done on Mobil 1 at 19,472 miles. Also I did not go 5k miles on my next change. I changed it at 3k as usual. I going to do analysis every other oil change from now on.

 

Maybe if more people are having this done for archiving sake we should start a "post all your oil analysis sheets here" thread...???

I did it mostly out of curiosity, in part about how my motor was doing, in part about what the difference between Mobil 1 and other oils might be, and about oil analysis in general...
