Exclamation Red line for Evo 6.5 TME

Does anyone know the Actual red line in the TME? I have revved it around 7500-8000 and still the limiter hasn't kicked in so kinda nervous whether it's a problem with the limiter or does it kick in much later?

The limitter should be at 7,700 revs. The easiest way to test it is to rev the engine while standing still and see if it bounces of the limitter. In case you think it could be broken, just increase the throttle slowly once you get close to 7,700

Sure it does even with no gear selected, and as said, somewhere around 7,700-7,800rpm.

You have an Evo VI TME? Can I get some pics?

And also I'm very curious on that turbo set-up. What do you have done to it?

I second the first gear thing, just top out in first gear and look at the revs before they bounce. Like said before, it should be a bit higher than 7500.

7600-7700 is the norm.

Here are some pics of mine. They have the TD05HRA-15GK2-10.5T(Titanium) or
TD05HRA-16G6 -10.5T(Titanium). The 15G is a stage 3 upgrage for SRT-4's. I have a recent thread here for mine also.

7600 should be the limiter, but often the rev counter is a little out. might not cut until it looks like 7800-7900 on the gauge Sweet looking car!

Stock tachs aren't terribly accurate, my Evo 1 is usually 300 rpm over at redline vs. actual (it would show 7800 at my 7500 limiter). I'd say datalog it somehow, but your limiter will be stock if your ECU is untouched.

Mechanical overrev is a different issue. If you force the trans into a lower gear (instead of the higher gear you're trying to get in to) and dump the clutch limiter won't stop the engine from accelerating to match transmission speed. Mechanical overrev will also throw a code.

Could also just be that your tach is off.
