Weird Evo Problem

Hey guys....I'm having a bit of a weird thing going on with my car. I am having something happen between shifts that feels and sounds like compressor surge. I do have a greddy type-s bypass valve, but have switched back and forth between stock and the greddy and keep getting the same surge. It basically sounds like I suck at driving at high RPM's because the car revs a little higher. It didn;t used to do that. I realize I might need a new clutch soon, but this doesn;t seem like a reason that my car would rev up a little between shifts.

Anyways...doesn;t anyone know of another way to fix compressor surge? Or know of something that would cause a similar condition that I am identifying as compressor surge when it is actually something else? thanks!

I read something about this a couple days ago. If I'm not mistaken it is carbon deposits that have accumulated in the intake because our cars run rich and that an oil catch can can prevent this from happening. Do a search.

i dont think it is that...there are a few of us having this problem, odd that you are posting about it now as well. There is a thread on here about this titled RPM rise or something like that...im still trying to figure out the cause of this same problem.

I have the same thing seems to be more prevelant when i first take mt car out, after my commute to it goes away some times. I will be putting in a catch can (Ihave had in the garage) on this weekend. I don't feel it will help it, I will clean out my TB and see if it helps it tomorrow.
