05 MR' mustang dyno stock

Dyno'd my car at Groupe-S in Hayward today during our mini-meet. I'm told strong 04's make about 220 awhp on this Mustang Dyno. So, my numbers are kinda low. Maybe the car isn't broken in... or maybe I'm just unlucky. oh well

they said the boost was fluctuating in the upper rpm. this run was done in third gear. another MR owner told me that in the higher gears (5th-6th?) the boost stays more consistent. i've been driving by myself, so i haven't had a time to check. i don't know if its the 05' ecu only, but it seems that the factory ecu has a pretty complicated method of controlling boost.

What kind of gas? maybe knock sensor is limiting boost, try putting in a gallon of 100 octane to see if boost gets more consistant. maybe also heat soak in intercooler?

91 shell octane. they tried spraying water on the ic, and it didn't seem to make a difference.

If we lived in the midwest, you could get 93 pump premium, i would just add 1 gallon of $5 100 octane gas. That is what i did when i ran my old car at the track using nitrous.

one thing i noticed was the car ran real rich on the dyno. i could smell that rotten egg type smell that comes from being too rich w/ a cat.

Was intake getting enough air? sometimes w/ dyno fan, it doesn't cover the complete front of can and intake might not have enough air; very important trying to make boost, also did you watch the boost gauge to see if it was spooling up all the way?

too low, i think intake is a little higher: black thing above grill?also usually they got the really big industrial fans: hey my car is from union mitsu: unfortunately it's still there. I'm in hawaii and am trying to get it shipped: paid for but not here yet!

Or it could just be that in reality, whatever little bit of increased performance potential that exists in the MR hardware is simply snuffed by the factory tuning.

There is a Mustang dyno here in Mi and stock evos make around 200 iirc. thats on 93/94.

Why did you dyno in 3rd gear? I have always heard you dyno in the gear that is 1:1 or closest to it.

Sounds like it was a combination of the gas, and boost leak. Just looking at the dips at around 5200 and 6600rpm, something isn't right. You had peak HP at around 5000rpm, which just isn't right.
