Cold bogging issue

I have had this problem for some time and searched the threads for a solution to no avail. Wondering if anyone has found the fix for this:

Bone stock Evo VIII

At start up and for about a minute or so, the thing bogs horribly and almost stalls at RPMs below about 3,000.

Had it to the dealership...yeah. That was a big help. They couldn't even fix a rattle after 3 visits and having my car for a couple of weeks. They reloaded the latest map but to no avail.

Anyone had this problem?

Anyone found a fix?

Thanks.

Dunno if it will help, but, check all ic piping and hoses and tighten....you stall at under 3000rpms?

Yeah, it completely stops once the car is fully warmed up...then it runs perfectly, immediately responsive, etc. I'll check all the ic piping and hoses though....thanks.

Don't waste your time, although it is good to check your piping every now and then, your car is perfectly fine! You NEED to let it warm up before trying to drive it... at least 4-5 min.. Or just understand that this is normal operation when you don't let it warm up. When I realy have to go before it warms up I just leave my foot on the gas more than normal during shifts untill it warms up. This will keep it from bucking and bogging. Just wake up a few mins earlier or start it while you are still getting ready to leave.

it shouldnt bog and want to stall while idling...since you said upon startup and for a minute after, i would assume this is at idle...at idle it should stay around 1200-1300 or so for a minute then drop down slowly to a normal idle as the car warms up...if you are starting your car and driving it immediately afterwards then you need to start your car earlier...you shouldnt even be doing that in the summer...

No, sorry I sounded like I was talking at idle. It idles fine...I just like to fire and drive immediately. I'm somewhat relieved to know this is normal but it's kindof annoying. Oh well. My MR didn't seem to do it, but then I've never had it in any cold weather yet. Maybe the MR doesn't do the same...unlikely though. Thanks for the info guys.

Mine use to do the exact same thing every day for about a year. I tried posting about it but was basically ignored/thread closed. I've changed a lot since then and it doesn't seem to do it anymore. Who knows what it was exactly. I use to think it was because of the open element filter.

Mine does this too, if it's cold and I just start up and go, I have to be very careful. A couple of times I've started in first gear and it wouldn't even go no matter how much I pushed on the gas. This car really does need to be given a few minutes to warm up, what you were experiencing is completely normal, like everyone else said.
