When you replace a clutch @ almost 30k, you need to or really should replace the flywheel as well... Correct?

If the the ACT is ~ $500ish and a decent flywheel is ~$3-400ish you need to take it into consideration when compairing it to a 1300ish Exeddy twin with intergrated flywheel... Correct?

I think your comparing two different animals , FWIW if you bought a act and flywheel the combo runs about 8 hundred the install at RRE is about 500 total 1300 for a great product.

exedy 1300 plus install = 1800. 500 dollar difference for a equally great clutch is what I look at. plus when I was searching I saw too many negative posts about the exedy twin, so I took that into account. I didnt want it to burn and have to fork out another 1800 dollars as opposed to the 1100 out the door I paid.

plus at 30k miles you could theoretically purchased a used low mileage flywheel off someone who went with an exedy twin. so my opinion is go with the edexdy twin so that I can by your flywheel and have it resurfaced

LOL, good break down thanks. It's not quite dead yet... Believe me though, I'm am trying and nobody wants my flywheel, trust me on that too!

I'm still trying to sort out the "negative" Exeddy twin feedback myself. Between bad installation, drag racing newbs, or genuine product flaws. The twin has done well in this pole considering greater cost and I would have to imagine fewer sold. Which intern would mean that MOST of the people that bought them like it.

ACT has run the pole, more people have them and most seem like them, although I have read of plenty of dis-engagement issues, heavy clunky feel, slow shifting etc. Again installation is always a factor. I'm not yet convinced that it's much of an improvment over stock aside from better friction material and higher clamp pressure.

wingless... more clamping force (40% isn't much???) and a higher temp disk at a stock like price.. that's it guy... be aware that a new f/w isn't always necessary so the price is 500ish (The total amount on my invoice from Pro Street is $528.73 and that was shipped ) plus what ever you can get one put on for (perhaps 400-800 or free if you work things right).

Ok. well do you need to consider a new flywheel was my first question two or three posts up. If no... well, yes that does change the equation, thanks. However...

Increased clamp= increased pedal effort. Stock like= slow reluctant to release gears. I think maybe there is more...

less pedal effort higher torque rating. Lighter rotating mass (according to Exeddy guys) = quicker easier shifting. As I'm not a huge fan of the stock clutch I'm intrigued by the Exeddy positives. Chatter, glazing, install issues,$ and other negatives I need to check out 1 b y 1.

Still unbiased, but I cannot shift quickly into 4th or 5th when I'm really on it without endless patience and lost boost or a nasty zing, if it cost 1300$ sold. If the ACT clutch helps @ $500, even better. Hopefully I'll still have some synchro's left.

I never drove a HKS clutch before but I did step on the clutch to see how it feels on a another Evo and its lighter(less effort) than the stock one

How would you compare the ACT (organic street disk) clutch kit with the stock?
Pedal effort
Weight
Shift time
Quality
Noise

I don't think there are too many manufacturers (maybe only one) for this bearing so it shouldn't matter where you get it. I am not at the shop right now to research it to confirm.
