Buschur turbo 580 compared to others

It seems like this turbo can give you a lot of horsepower for only $2500. Best bang for the buck? Now my question is why are there other turbo systems out there that cost 5-6k and give you the same or just a bit more hp. I can understand HKS prices are so high because of the name but arent the turbos basically using the same material? For 2500 it is very attractive if you ask me.

Size is not always the answer. Do you want to spool by redline?

The main reason the BR turbo kits are less expensive then the other vendors is becuase it doesn't come with stuff that isn't essential.

BR's kit comes with a cast exhaust manifold instead of a hand built tubular header. It will probobly last longer, and is less expensive to make in the long run. This allows the kit to be lower priced

BR's kit uses internal wastegate. That' much less expensive than an external wastegate and works just as well for this application.

the br kit does not come with a downpipe. most people who are ready to buy a turbo upgrade already have a full exhaust, so this is a non issue so long as the downpipe you already own will fit with the BR o2 housing.

The turbo included with br's kit is a standard bearing turbo. a ball bearing turbo costs about 500 more. The ball bearing helps spoolup but doesn't affect total power output much.

The BR kit includes only what you NEED to put the turbo on your car. It's intended to be the most cost effective way. The other kits have advantages and you have to weight what is important to you.

Realisticly most evo owners should be looking at the 440 and 500 turbos and not the 580 for street use. Seems most of the people who are dissatisfied with the BR kit didn't have issues with the kit, they had issues with thier turbo choice and going to big.
