Couldn't you always switch out the manifolds later if the ATP was low on flow?

Yeah, like i said, different exhuast housing on the ATP. Its much smaller, in a cheap attempt to accomodate the stock exhaust manifold.

I think Vishnu is working on developing a new turbo upgrade that should be much better than the ATPs while still using the stock exhaust manifold. Although, it still won't be as good as something like the Ams most likely b/c the exhuast manifold (stock) is still somewhat of a restriction.

They canned the ATP stage 2's quick after seeing the horrid results.

Im not taking sides here but I think Az3ar didnt have any other mods to his car and just bolted on the turbo. I assume if thats true about his mods then the hp numbers should be withing that ball park even with other turbo kits

No, his numbers WITH supporting mods would be in the ballpark of other turbokids WITHOUT the supporting mods, if he's lucky.

Look, i dont think a lot of the shops that used to carry the atp turbo's feel like burning any bridges by talking bad about them on a forum.

Call some of them up and ask them what they think of those turbos, and ask them why they got rid of them.

You're right about Vishnu-talked to them earlier this week about it....just wanting to retain stock look and not risk the cracking of a tubular manifold. Even though the manifold is warrantied-all of them crack eventually.

oh totally. Thats why im waiting for Vishnu's new one. I was looking at Buschur's 20g upgrade too but that seems to have fallen through the cracks a bit.

RNR also has lifetime warranty on their manifolds on cracking. I wonder if theirs crack as well.

Good points....So there wouldn't be a hot-swap option because of the exhaust housing...hmm now to justify the extra $1000 lol.

Yeah-but vishnu will still be more expensive than RnRs option with group buys..they are thinking 5k for the setup while for 5k you can get turbo, fmic, injectors, ACT clutch, and alum flywheel from RnR and RRE.

yeah thats also true. Theyve got some incredible prices.

don't forget though, the vishnu price of 5k INCLUDES the wastegate, the injectors, the custom downpipe fitting, and the custom air intake pipe that fits back onto the stock airbox.

I have the AMS kit and it rules ***. It's still tuned like *** too. 50/50 recirc BOV that is venting completely to the Atmosphere = not a good idea

Hi fre,

50 recirculate back & 50 VTA is bad? I dun get it? Why is it bad for the evo?

If you are running MAP than full VTA will not be a issue..

ATP= smaller exh. housing to mate to stock exh. manifold, which results in slower spoolup and chokes top end power. Does not include lower intercooler piping which is standard w/ AMS kit.

AMS= tops in fit and finish (everything fits and looks right), awesome performance w/ relatively little lag up front and no lag whatsoever between shifts.

As I've said before, you get what you pay for. Is the AMS worth the extra $$$.
To me it was.
