Nice of you to resort to name calling. How cold is NOS? Not very cold really. Brand names are neither hot nor cold. Now, if we're talking N2O then, in its liquid form, it's pretty cold. However the cooling comes from the fact that the N2O is in liquid form when compressed and upon release into the atmosphere will turn into gas. In order for this transition to occur it needs heat to change from a liquid to a gas and, if sprayed onto the hot intercooler, it takes the heat from there. So, the N2O never touches the air inside the intercooler, it merely cools down the vessel that the air passes through. Therefore, debating how cold N2O is really has no bearing on anything.

It's nice to see that you and your buddy concluded the AFRs changed due to a cooler intake charge, even though an experienced tuner such as Dave Buschur disagrees. I think me and my mates will sit down over a cup of tea and have a discussion about it also; I'll let you know what we come up with. Here, let's put this to rest once and for all: Go fill your mate's bottle up with CO2 and do some runs. Come back here and let us know how bad his car is missing and how much power he lost on the dyno. I'm sorry, but Buschur did back to back runs with the ntercooler using N2O and CO2 and reported that the CO2 run lost power and the car missed. Who do you think I'm gonna believe?

i have first hand knowledge of that already. no need to waste anyone's money on dyno time. i tried the intercooler freeze thing with 2 sidemounts on my Z32....lost 31whp while spraying c02 and gained 17whp while spraying with nitrous......

so, unless someone wants to argue that nitrous cools the intake air 100 or so degrees cooler than the c02 did.....this arguement should be settled.

we all know that the intake ingested some of the n2o and burned it.....ingested some co2 and couldn't burn it.....

simple really

the co2 would be for ic spraying only as it's much cheaper for a bottle of co2 than n20. Theoreticly "none of it ever gets into the engine" so all is good, right guys?

the front n20 sprayer makes some power becuase some n2o is getting into the intake. IMO most of the gains people actually see are from that, not from cooling the intercooler. And switching to CO2, most people report crappy results.

yeh, the front IC n20 sprayer is right below the ram air opening on our cars. It gets mixed inside the intake box after you spray it.

You really don't have to cool the intercooler that much anyway, what matters is how hot the upper intake pipe is.

I read the post about spraying with co2 and dudes car stalled out every time he sprayed it.

I know the co2 is cold and cheap, but once the co2 gets into your intake box, you're loosing compressed air. It's just not worth it, since it could make your car rich and run poorly.

so, lesson here is.....

if you gonna buy a NTERCOOLER, go ahead and spray nitrous in your motor and properly tune in some more fuel. IF, you want something to cool your intercooler between runs or something, get a 5lb bottle filled with co2 and get out of the car, and spray the damn intercooler untill its frozen.....
