Do the math on how much hp you have/will have to the dimensions of the intercooler needed. Most people think you need the biggest thickest intercooler on the market, but you don't. Don't get a huge intercooler to be cool(no pun intended) when all you need is one to support your current/future mods. Find one that supports your hp needs. 24x12x3 is big enough to support somewhere around 600-700 hp.

On that note, if the 'math' is considered, >90% of the members in this forum would probably not benefit or would not benefit enough from a larger IC to justify the cost of the unit + shipping + installation (where applicable). But as always, propoprtionally bigger is always perceived to be proportionally better, and there will always be buyers jumping for something that looks 'cool', even if it offers no real benefit.

However, if the math is considered and upgrading the IC looks favorable, one may as well consider what appears to be the best (read: most efficient) for the money. In this case, I found it easy to spend more and get less, yet impossible to spend less and get more.

Just an $0.02 worth.

TedB is correct. I have a buschur Stage 4 car and my friend had a similiar setup except he had the stock intercooler and we made the SAME whp. I would say if you are staying with the stock turbo you should be alright with the stock one. I plan to upgrade my turbo anyways so i am not going to loose in the end. My theory is since i live in flroida and the summer here is VERY hot and humid it might help me. With the AEM i will definitely test this in the coming summer to see if am benefiting from the aftermarket one.

Well if your talking about the Nisei core then I guess it would depend on what you consider to be good. I just got mine a couple of weeks ago and it's GREAT! All I have is a turboback, reflash, and the Nisei intercooler. I had my car tested on a dynojet and it averaged 14 whp over the stock core. With the stock core my power band used to go flat. Now I've noticed my power band increased through out, but especially in the mid range and top end it keeps pulling.

The reason I went with an intercooler was because I noticed performance fluctuations depending on the weather conditions. Hotter days it would feel more sluggish and in cooler weather it would pull like a champ. Also, I plan to upgrade my car a lot in the future and everyone was talking about this Nisei core and how it was really good especially for the introductory price... so I had to get one! But, it was Ted B's post that made me really get it (well one of the key reasons I bought it) when he said it was the best looking pc he has seen so far. Now my car is more consistent and I feel good about my gains so, Thanks Ted!!! and i hope you get the results your looking for! Another reason is that Nisei has already tested against the AVO, Greddy, Buscher, and stock with better results and I was told they are going to continue to test against other manufacturers. Good stuff! Now I'm a true believer because of what other people are saying and that everything the guys at Nisei told me came true. So on that note, thanks to everyone who posted and good luck to the Nisei guy's! keep up the good work and I'll be looking for your other products.
