APS Intercooler

I am thinking of buying an APS Intercooler, I have done research but have not really good info. What you guys think of this intercooler? Is it better than stock? Does it have a good design? I have heard great things about the APS company. I would like to hear input only on this intercooler if possible, thanks.

I own this intercooler and it mainly helps in the area of heat soak. This means your car will be more tolerant to knock at consistent boost or higher boost. I have no complaints and it seems to be a good unit. As far as it being better than brand x I couldn't tell you, but it is definitely a good product.

I don't know much about their intercooler but I have heard nothing but amazing results with their products. I plan on buying their Dual ported BOV soon...

APS is a very quality product, but for your needs wich seem to just be wanting better than stock i would purchase something cheaper,i would like to see a test of incoming an outgoing ambient temps on all aftermarket IC's on a stock car and let the consumer decide

Does this intercooler come with piping, if not does APS offer IC piping? Have you ever ran this intercooler on a any track events?
It definately looks like a quality piece. The way you describe this intercooler, this something I need, especially not getting heat soak at consistent boost.

here's the link to APS for their i/c:

http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/us.../fmic/fmic.htm

the pic is misleading if you have an 05 as their cai will not work on the 05 cuz where the stock i/c spray bottle is located (which would be removed) has been replaced w/ the front diff fluid bottle.
never heard anything bad with the i/c though. the largest i/c w/ the least amount of mod work would be from Perrin.

I have only run it at the drag strip which I got a 12.8 @110, but I have a larger turbo and some other crap too. I wouldn't think the IC would have a huge impact at the drag strip where your just going for short bursts. I did notice consistency though when I would just pull back around and go again (track was dead that night). Stock IC you would probably have to cool it down more in between runs. As far as piping goes, I think they do have piping, but I used the piping that went with my turbo kit. I also have their CAI and you do need to remove your IC spray, which I don't mind since I never use it anyway. They offer their own resevoir that fits though.

cai w/resevoir doesn't fit 05's cuz of the front diff resevoir location. as far as the APS i/c ?'s go, call Rich at Dyno-Comp as he sells APS exclusively for the evo & sti (480)596-0500

oops didn't know the 05s were different. I'm sure their IC fits still though. Their are plenty of CAI that work just fine so APS isn't a must.

He just meant he deals with APS products. He always will try to sell you APS before any other brand he doesn't carry.

Bump - rather than start a new thread, I was just wondering if there is anyone else who has any experience with the APS intercooler. I have their 3.5" TBE and intake on my car now, and am very happy with these products, so I was considering doing an IC and am just curious to hear about it. For those of you who have this IC or have tried / installed it, how does it fit? Good performance gains? Anyone have pics of theirs??

Any info would be much appreciated!
