I've had my perrin test pipe for about 5 days now and it smells kinda bad. When i pull in my garage or sitting at a stop light, I can really smell it. Does everyone else with a test pipe have this problem or is my exhaust still burning off glue or something?

 

it's the fact that you don't have a cat. The unburnt fuel or whatever is what you are smelling. You get used to it

 

thats what happens when u remove the cat. Lovely sweet smell of gasoline

just be glad u arent the guy sitting behing your car =D

hmmm, after a while, you get use to it. It become... a bit pleasant after awhile...

or you wont notice it anymore.

Its getting in my clothes and stuff..... i can deal with it, but im worried about when a cop is sitting behind me or when one pulls me over. How could a cop not know right away you have a test pipe!

 

that happened to me, cop standing behind, nothing happened.

if you're so worried, you could always turn your car off. Cops like that better.

 

Yeah, it will smell even more if you're running rich.

i got pulled over.. made sure to turn off the car, got out and met him at his car. so the smell had time to dissappate.. not sure approaching a cop who just pulled u over is a good idea [specially in LA].. but it worked for me..

 

yeah, I'm pretty sure the general consensus is to stay in the car but if it worked, who cares?

 

if ur state doesn't have emissions test, then its illegal for him to check or ask. So make sure your state has emissions or not, my state virginia, has no emissions test so the cop cant actually give me a ticket. Only if i was to get caught racing and they take my car in and find illegal **** later on and etc.
