what causes this tranny noise and p0300

All our cars make that decel noise when in gear that sounds like there is gravel in it. Mine has recently been making that noise but louder now when decel from higher rpms. I believe that whatever is causing this noise to grow louder has also caused my P0300 to recently become chronic instead of random.

TC is straight. No bearing noise that I can tell. New fluids in everything and just minor shavings from the tranny. A few chips from grinding 2nd a few times too many, but nothing out of the ordinary. car drives fine, just making more decel noise. I have also got an accel noise only in first gear between 1700 and 200 rpms. That is the only gear and the only time it makes that noise, but that is really a different issue, because I have had that for awhile.

it's not your tranny, i think that's your intake box. everyone makes that gravel noise when decel.

it's normal.

I think that's the intake box not sucking up all that air in the box, so the air sorta moves around...

i don't know, i've been trying to figure out why it's making that noise, but fairely common on all car, even more evident on aftermarket intake.

get a new filter, that helps a bit...

I get the P0300 CEL at idle. My tranny has always been noisier than most. Even at idle you can hear the tranny making noise. Kinda like it has gravel in it or something (sounds to me like it's the throw out bearing). Anyway....since I had cams put in, my tranny at idle has gotten even louder. Probably due to the lumpy idle. Now my car is throwing a P0300. Prior to the cam install my car never got the P0300 CEL. I took it to Mitsu to get the reflash but it still didn't fix the problem.

I don't think u're issue is the same as the Tranny noise and PO300 issue. From what i hear that's caused by the input shaft in the tranny being too lose. I think the tolerances/QC isn't that good

I have WORKS 269 cams. It doesn't matter what cams anyone has really. People have gotten P0300 after putting in HKS, Piper, etc cams.

My car has been making those noises for 2 years now. Nothing broken yet. I changed the tanny, rear diff, and transfer oils and put in mobil 1 synthetic gear lube thinking that might help having synthetic in. No change. I, too, had a few metal shavings in the tranny and transfer. Only 14000 on the car now. I guess I'll drive it 'til it breaks, since just about everyone seems to have this problem.
