I posted before about my gears whinning a few days ago. well i had 3 of my friends in the car and 2 of them where in the back seat which both are Evo owners. They told me that the whining sound is comming from the back. I am assuming this is either the center diff or the rear one, most likely the rear. I have over 13k on my car and have NOT changed the fluids. Could this be causing this sound? The sound is the same as when shifting form 1st to 2nd that makes the whining sound and goes away an rpm later. I noticed at high speeds in 4th it whines at 5k real quick and it
goes away. I also in the other thread discusses the howling when downshifting and i have the clutch engaged half way in, it also sounds like a diff. I am hoping its b/c the fluid might be bad or its low on it. Any suggestions are welcomed!!

 

from my limited knowledge, if it whines then it's going out. same goes for your turbo
