So basically this mod warrants a reflash.

If the 0300 is thrown due to the camshaft position sensor and the crankshaft position sensor not seeing eye to eye, then every single car out there with cam gears that are set to anything other then a stock setting should throw the code correct? I do not know one way or another, but if this is how the ECU gathers its information to throw the 0300 then it would make sense. For the record, my car had over 7,000 miles with cam gears set anywhere from -1/-4 to -2/-2 with no 0300 codes ever.

No mivec, just varying degrees of random misfire severity. If a car just gets the code, and doesn't misfire, the fix might take care of the SES light. If the car gets the misfiring badly, then it's possible that the fix would get the SES light to go out, but more than likely would just take care of the misfire.

I don't know why but I haven't had the misfire since the gas around here stopped puting ethanol in the gas as of Jan 31st... seems strangly coincidental to me.

I have had my car reflashed FIVE (yes, FIVE) times at the dealer for this. The last two, it came and and the car did the normal shuddering on the way HOME from the service appointment !
Not happy.

Rather interesting that this thread died - must not be an easy fix, eh?

It is the exact fix that I listed. If you cut the Baro wire you'll see that your check engine light on the p0300 code will disappear and a baro will appear. If you splice in a potentiometer you can make the check engine light disappear totally. It's basically the solution I will be using until someone comes out with another.

That's actually the ECU cutting fuel/spark. I've logged it and it shows the car going completely lean... More like it dropped a cylinder. I'm going to splice in one today and see. I can easily duplicate it so I'll know if it's gone or not.

im confused a lil bit. But does this keep it from misfiring? or just lose the SES light? I'd love to lose the lovely orange glow but I dont want my car still not running right.
