Max Boost around 12-15 ???

Ok,

I did see a few posts on this but no one seemed to reply saying anything worked etc...

Anyways, Just got the car 2 weeks ago. Love it. Just recently me and my buddy installed an intake. (Yes, I also reset the ECU.)

After the install, I noticed on my boost gauge that my max boost being put out is around 12-15 in low gears and around 10-12 in 4th and 5th gear. Now I didn't pay attention to the gauge before this, but the car seems to not have as much pull as it did before the installation of the intake..

Anyone have any ideas as to what to try in order to fix this?

Check ALL your vacume lines and connections. I loose/ripped line could cause an issue.

Check the fitment of your upper I/C pipe too. You could be loosing boost at a bad seal.

AEM Shorty intake; gonna recheck all the lines tommarow, but I am pretty sure they were all nice and tight.

I had a similar problem, the vacuum line that attaches to the boost guage was loose.

check and make sure that the lines to the wastegate solonoid are correct and have the right restrictor pills in them.

Whatup,

My IC hose popped off at the TB this morning. I had read other posts about this, but didn't think it would happen to me.. I even have a tbolt clamp and Samco hose, but I just didn't tighten the clamp enough... I put it on at a better angle and got it much tighter.

Car hasn't been running great though, only reading about 18 psi of boost. My SAFCII also picked up a lot of knock, Perhaps the hose popping off made another hose or vacuum line loose somewhere? My vacuum at idle still reads between 18 and 20 inHG and Karmann reads ~25 at idle like it has before, but the car feels sluggish and doesn't sound right.

Oh well, just double check all the IC hose connections and vacuum lines. I'm going to do the same, good luck!

I checked all my lines this morning...

I did notice that my I/C clamps were infact stripped and not very tight. Replaced them with new clamps and sealed them nice and tight.

I did see the boost going up to around 19 when I stepped on it, but slowly dimming off..

I'm honestly just wondering if I have gotten used to the power of the car and this is all in my head lol..

I can't see anywhere else it could be leaking from....Could I possibly have a leaky BOV? How would I be able to tell?

Resealed the clamp where MAF connects to intake tube, looked a bit loose. Not sure if that was it but the problem seems to be solved. Power seems to be back and consistantly hit 19psi now!!

Thanks everyone!
