Question for Claudius
Hi Claudius,
I'm looking to pre-order a 1.5 way front LSD for the US Evo VIII. Since there is no ACD on this car, should I be looking for an Evo VI part? In other words, is the VI diff the same as the VII diff minus the ACD parts? I'm asking you because this board scares me.
Thanks,

who scares you? Let me know and I tell them off
LOLThe Evo 8 front LSD will be the same as the Evo 7 front LSD, given that they are the same Cedia based car (CT9A).
I do not know if an Evo 6 diff would fit a 7. My guess would be that it doesnt, most Evo 7 parts being different from the Evo 6.
I'd say an Evo 8 is in fact an Evo 7 with a different bumper and without ACD / AYC and with better body shell rigidity. Given the cost of a good front LSD (over $2,000), I would await confirmation of that LSD fitting the Evo 8.

I dont know what exactly you're on about, but an Evo 8 is the same as a 7, basically. Same shell, same front driveshafts (same rear driveshafts as the Evo 7 RS, I suppose). Therefore, an Evo 7 front diff should fit.
Not sure how the center diff influences the front diff fitment, I'll try and check on that.

Hi Claudius,
The Ralliart front diff for the VII comes with additional parts that strengthen the center diff. I roadrace in SCCA's T2 class and what I am trying to do is preorder parts to make the VIII trackable quickly. I start testing in March, and if the SCCA allows the car to race in this class I need all the development time I can get. If the car looks promising, I'll commit to cagework etc. If not, I'll have a fun road toy. I have brake pads and brake lines on order from Phil Smith at Coordsport and Volk CE28N's coming. Throw on some track tires, a harness and some negative camber, and I'm ready to go. The T2 class is relatively stock, so this should allow me to see very quickly whether the car will have competitive lap times.
Cheers,
