As for the resurface, I'll decide that when I see it.
-the level of increased acceleration by reducing weight at the flywheel is affected by gear multiplication. so for example, and these are very rough guesstimates, a light weight flywheel will make you care accelerate like it is 200 lbs lighter in 1st gear, a 100 lbs lighter in 2nd, etc. in otherwords it is most noticable in 1st and 2nd gears. on the other hand, for launching a heavy flywheel can help you by storing inertia so you don't bog.

For me getting a counter weight shift knob has alleviated the notchy shifting feeling.

EJ1 - If your favorite machine shop thinks the friction surface of your flywheel looks questionable, have them grind off .010 or .020. It'll work just fine, and, as others have posted, cast iron dissipates heat better than steels. Just don't beat it up, and you'll be fine. It wasn't designed for repeated "launches".

Our stock flywheel is not cast iron like most are, instead it looks to be some form of steel, what kind exactly I dont know.

I dont know, but I have decided to keep the flywheel stock, just so it keeps everything in balance. As for the resurfacing, I guess that will depend on how the wheel looks when everything is apart.

We have not had any warping or noise issues with our chromoly forged Pro Street flywheels. We are selling our 10.45lb flywheels with ACT Heavy Duty Clutch kits for $729.99.

If you need just the flywheel, it's $319 shipped.
