I am honestly not sure what the air/fuel was at. It wasnt told to us but Mark was happy with the tune so I am sure it was where he wanted it.

Looking at my dyno graph, A/F was set at 12.0:1 to 11.5:1 @ redline, so if Mark thinks it's safe on pump gas, then it's safe.

Mark sat there with his laptop working his numbers between runs so I know he did a good job. I can really feel it when i get on the gas so I am happy!!

Wow, how quickly people start talking about things they don't even know about. I was the operator of the dyno on Saturday. I have been operating Mustang dyno's since 2000, so I know how to use one very well. As far as the manual that was out at the beginning, it had NOTHING to do with the Mustang dyno. The manual was for the ATI SmartTach rpm sensor, and I pulled it out to check one of its settings because sometimes you have to adjust it by the type of car you're working with.

Also, as far as configuration of the dyno, it was not tampered with at all throughout the day. It is also as it came from Mustang and NONE of the parameters have been changed. I leave them at their default settings just so that people don't complain about inflated dyno #'s. Once again the settings were the same for every car throughout the day.

Someone mentioned something earlier about the hp @ 50 being at 13. That has to do with a cars aerodynamics. It is how much power the car needs to maintain 50 mph with wind resistance. It varies from car to car, and Mustang has a catalog with almost every car since the 70's and it's appropriate hp @ 50 number.

Sorry that your car didn't make the power you were expecting, but it wasn't from the dyno being tampered with or adjusted at some point.

Hector- no one said the dyno was tampered with. I believe someone said they could inflate the numbers if they wanted to. Also no one accused you of tampering with the numbers, someone at the dyno stated that you "can inflate the numbers for better results". Also I belive in this thread it was stated twice how good you guys were up there. I appreciate the explanation of the HP @ 50 being 13 I didnt know what that was. You guys did a good job and I appreciate the time on the dyno at the facilities it is very clean and very well managed. Also in regards to my car not making the numbers it should of I honestly think that it should of been higher because cars that dyno'd there 2 weeks before came in 30whp lower which is kind of weird but numbers dont mean anything. What happens on the track is where we will see the enormous pick-up!

Is not proffessional to have a Tuner/Vendor come and post something like this here. You were a guess at that facility and hired the Shop to conduct business/tuning there that day. You as a Vendor/Tuner must set the bar. Many here look up to you for advise and help. If you were not sure, or had any doubt, you should have stoped the sessions. Many came from far away and payed lots of money to have their vehicles tuned and have a nice Dyno chart to show at the end of the day. I respect the Vendors/Tuners of this Forum and many others. Sorry for this post, but I was there and have Dynowed my car there. I got charts of the Aerocomp Dyno and charst of the other local Mustang Dyno at Central Florida Turbo. The numbers are very, very close. No 2 Dynos read the same!
Next time think twice before you post a negative note about one of your bussiness associates.

04AWDTURBOEVO - I respect what you have to say but I dont think Mark intended any disrespect he was just stating what happened. Also from other customers that were present that have dyno'd 2 weeks prior to this event lost 30whp which is kind of odd. Honestly the Aerocomp guys were awesome and so was everyone that was there and I am sure Mark did not intend for that statement to come out rudely(sp*)

I was not concerned with the baseline ..only the difference in between the first and last runs .. Sorry if i offended anyone as this was not my intent .. No hard feelings Mark. I thought you, Jeff, and Keith were pretty cool guys too. I just wanted to clear things up with everyone so that they don't start spreading rumors that our dyno has been tweaked in some way or that we don't know what we are doing there.

I'll agree that unfortunately Mustang dyno's aren't as consistant as DynoJet dyno's as far as numbers are concerned, but they sure do make for awesome tuning tools. For tuning purposes, you can't beat the features of the Mustang dyno.

Just a quick question but what features does a mustang dyno have over another dyno?

It actually has alot more .. most people dont use. It has a 1/4 mile drag time.. Where you see the tree and launch ect ..and it will calculate your 1/4 mile time. Load control , there is more , maybe hector can fill you in

The Mustang Dyno has all the features that Mark mentioned and a few more. You can load a car by different MPH and actually have the dyno hold the car at that speed, even if you're at full throttle. It's real nice for tuning a standalone car for perfect drivability. You can also set it like if you were climbing a hill, or even pulling a trailer up a hill. Nice for playing around with Diesel trucks and stuff. As mentioned before, you can also include aerodynamics into the load (hp# @ 50mph) put on a car so that the dyno will increase the load as the speed rises.

I know there are a few more features that I'm not thinking of right now, mainly because they are rarely, if ever, used.

So would changing hp# @ 50mph alter the horsepower #'s? I am asking because it seems that everytime I see a mustang dyno sheet for an Evo the #'s are always different @50mph.
