Yes it very well could. The lower the hp @ 50, the less of a load the dyno will put on the car. Usually it will show a little higher hp # from the car. I have always used 13 for the hp @ 50 number on an Evo.

Something else that will affect the hp reading is the weight entered for the vehicle. I was using 3400 pounds for every Evo last Saturday because this weight entered assumes the cars weight WITH driver. Just like the hp @ 50 #, the lower the weight entered, the lower the load on the car will be. This might also show a little bit higher hp for a car with less load.

I'm sure if I would have entered like 3200 pounds instead of 3400, and 11 or so for the hp @ 50 rather than 13, all the cars would have read a little higher. This however would be kind of like tweaking the dyno a little because that's not how Mustang says to do it.

Then of course, there are other dyno parameters (as mentioned before by someone else) that can be altered such as the weight of the rollers. That for sure has not, and will not ever be tweaked by me because that is definitely cheating

If all the Mustang dyno operators would agree on a certain # for weight and hp @ 50 for dynoing Evo's, I wouldn't mind going along with it. For example, if all the Mustang operators would use 12 for hp @ 50, and 3200 for the weight, I'd go along with everyone else just for the sake of having comparable dyno #'s. Then again, that's assuming that none of them had tweaked the other parameters on their dyno.

CFT had told me the weight didn't affect the final numbers, but I was under the impression it did because this dyno is supposed to simulate being on the street where weight DOES matter. I'll have to go back to my dyno sheet and see what was used as hp at 50 mph and the weight. If I remember correctly, I was also told the hp @ 50mph didn't matter either.

It is unfortunate that with these inputs differ from shop to shop (using a Mustang dyno). Either way, my car performs well at the track where it really matters.

Thanks for the info bro.

No problem Carlos. I think Manny had told me that they were using 11.8 for the hp @ 50 which is what the Mustang manual shows for a non-turbo base lancer which has less drag than an Evo. I'm sure they probably used a lower weight than 3400 pounds too. Either way, like you said the track and street is really where it counts. All the cars showed a nice improvement with Mark's tuning which is what really matters.

Yup, just checked my dyno sheet and it's 11.8 hp @ 50, and they used 3300lbs. Again, I clearly remember being told the weight didn't matter. I would think it does.

Yes, both the hp @ 50 and the weight make a little difference. Not day and night difference, but a little. The lower the weight or hp @ 50, the quicker the car will go through the gear on the dyno because it will have less of a load placed on it. This extra time makes it easier for the car to get hot (intercooler) and also more time for the computer to possibly pick up a little knock and pull timing, among other things.
