Congrats on a beautiful build 3240! The suspense is killing me. I hope this car does everything you expect it to. Best wishes my friend and be safe in that beast after you fully tune it.

I'm sure you've heard this before...but you've basically built my dream Evo. If I had unlimited cash, I would've built basically exactly that. Even the transmission is at the specification I would choose, except I might have one more helical gear. When you guys are out in the car, would you pretty please record the howling sound of the straight cut gears?

Thanks for all of the compliments. It's been a really cool project. The car will be back in Denver ready for Bandimere at the end of the month. I'll keep you all posted.

I haven't posted to this thread in awhile. Congrats on the nice job! You've got a serious amount of spare time and motivation on your hands to complete this project in the time that you did.

It looks like you're running some motorcycle coil sticks for your ignition. What type are they and what are you using to drive them? Any info you can provide would be appreciated.

Thanks and good luck.

By the pic, they look to be the same denso coil sticks that a lot of honda guy's use when going to a coil on plug setup. Come off of pretty much any late model import bike, i.e. Honda CBR's, GSXR's, etc. The length of the boot is what you need to figure out so the fit down in the spark plug hole. You can find them for cheap on ebay, I picked up one set for 5 bucks or so, but another set ran me 80 bucks due to the wire harness still being attached.

With Honda's: Only downfall I have seen with them is that you have to run a sparkplug with a removable/screw off connector. Also, the only plug I have seen guy's use with these is the denso IK series plugs which are not cheap. Never really seen guy's with dsm's run these as they have stuck with the GM coils and copper plugs.

No spare time here. I had nothing to do with building this car. I provided the car and the money. The engineering and design is done by Roberto Arano from Union7. I met him about a year and half ago through a friend of mine who owns Kleemann USA. Bert is a degreed engineer, builds rally cars, and is a certifiable car nut. I've been into modifying cars for a long time and I've never met someone with his talent and creativity. He's also a really cool guy. His shop is in West Chester, PA. If you're close by and need some work or mods done to your car stop by and check out his shop. His website is www.union7.net. I'm hoping that this car will give him some good publicity because he deserves it.
