Too late, it already melted a nice chunk. Cant see it unless your have your face up to it though so not really bothering me.

I took the car to Meineke this morning and had them move it a 1/2 inch over. Looks 10x better and its no longer touching the bumper. Good stuff! The guy didnt even charge me for it! I gave him a tip though! . Thats one problem down. Not onto the creeping!

How did they move it over? Others with the same problem might want to know.

My bad. They heated up the piping, and slighty angled it more .. I watched them, they hardly did anything but it really helped out, as you can see from before and after! Took them 2 mins.

my friend's Helix does the same thing...his hanger on the axleback section also broke and started an exhaust leak.

The exhaust looks and sounds great but seems to have some issues.

Same here, I had the cat back for a week and it melted a little bit of the bumper. This is nice looking quality when your holding the piece but not when it is installed. I actually had the full Helix turbo back downpipe, delete pipe and catback and the whole thing didn't not fit properly. I have then got rid of the downpipe and cat back (kept delete pipe) for a much nicer WORKS ceramic coated full 3' downpipe and an HKS 30th Anniversary edition catback. I'm much happier now.

Helix issues:

Downpipe leans against the transfer case which causes vibrations and transfer of heat to the transfer case from the downpipe which I can only imagine the damage it can cause to the transfer case.

Catback is not centered to the exit of the bumper and cause melt to your bumper.

The check engine light fix adapter that comes with the catback system is too long which cause the 02' censor to hit the frame of the car which can lead you to over $200.00 bucks in replacing the O2 censor with a new one if it gets damaged. Remove the adapter and deal with the "CHECK ENGINE" light until a tuner is able to figure out how to fix this.

This is my personal experience with the system.

They heated it up about a foot behind the muffler. I think they COULD have bent a hanger but and pulled the exhaust more to the right but that would cause stress on the entire system so I didnt want to do that.

I was also worried about this. The downpipe fit like crap. It was basically touching the TC. A bit peculiar because a lot of others complained it was too close to the oil pan which is on the opposite side. Either way, stuck an extra gasket inbetween it. I have no rattling what so ever but since its so close I might end up just getting another downpipe.

I see you have an 05 like me, I wonder if it doesnt fit as well because we have 05s? Did the Works DP fit much better? If so I might order one.

Hey Tom, if you still have that Silencer in your trash can give it to your brother, and I'll take it.

I was kinda wondering why you bought the Helix exhaust... you bought their intake, complained about the quality, then you bought their IC piping, and complained about the quality, now you bought their exhaust and you're doing the same.... Bottom line, Helix stuff is cheap stuff that works...

Yes the silencer is in the trash. Now normally I wouldnt go digging in trash cans but I owe you for hooking me up with the manual

Well I ordered intake and IC piping at same time. As of right now, I dont have complaints about the intake, Andrew did. I like it. As for the IC piping, I didnt like it at first however, one of the main problems was the clown at Gruppe-S sent me the wrong size clamps and Mitsu changed my battery (when car got broken into) and it had side handles which made the upper IC pipe not fit well at all. Andrew and I came to realize this (shaved the handles on the battery) and now it fits much better and Andrew even agreed its OK now. The lower IC pipe fit 100%

As for the exhaust, I really wanted an exhaust that didnt taper at the cat and had the HKS/Helix style muffler (dont know what you call it). Out of the 50 exhaust systems that left me with BR or Helix or the (Greddy Ti which is 900 for the CB). I hate BR's muffler and I heard its even louder than the Helix so I almost bought it by default!

But as I expressed before, it seems like everyone on this board (regarding Helix products) raves about them. However, when I get the stuff on there... I find some minor quality issues and I post them, and everyone is like "oh yeah mine does that, mine too, mine too, etc) [no pun intended what so ever]

I did not find ONE COMPLAINT about the muffler being too close to the left on this board. I spent 3 months surfing these forums reading posts here and there about exhaust systems, mainly Helix because it seems many people have them. I heard nothing but how great it sounds, looks etc. I guess everyone forgot to mention those tiny fitment issues that someone like me would like to hear. Its not until someone like me apparently comes on here and makes a point everyone chimes in! I hope this thread will alert future buyers.

Regardless, as of right now, I am happy with the Helix intake, IC piping, and the catback (now that I fixed it). As for the downpipe, I might replace that, but not at the moment. Now I have this god damn boost control problem but Andrew said he talked to you and we are going to the turbo-setup configuration.

That makes sense with the battery, I didn't get an update from you or him so I thought it was the pipes that were the problem, and the clamps, well, that's just and excuse to order some t-bolt's.

I think the exhaust is great, which is probably why I havn't mentioned the fitment issue, because that one little thing didn't overshadow the rest of it for me.

The intake, well, I don't like any of the aftermarket intakes for the Evo, so I'm gunna hate everything

One thing I've noticed with ANY aftermarket part is just that you simply don't get the same levels of fitment as OEM components form any company, they're always fiddling to get something to fit right, trimming here, tapping there, just the way it is...

Most people say that you have to use Kartboy hangers with the helix system.

Kartboy hangers will make it worst. The problem is the main hanger is way to short. I took it off and it fit perfectly. unfortunately my bumper is badly burnt. Ah well Carbonfiber heat shield please...

Hey did they have to remove the section to heat up and bend it, or leave it on the car?

No they just put it on the lift, and heated it up while on the car, moved it, and it was done.

Im having the same problem with the tip being to much to the left. I looked on the Helix website and noticed the IP has a bend in it near the end. Mine was completly 100% straight. Anyone have one with the bend and still issues with the melting bumper? I belive that is the problem.
