Exclamation stock boost?

Now i know the stock boost on an evo is 19 pounds, but i had to take my recirculator off my BOV to make it fit on better for the time being and i feel a TOTAL drop in my boost...i have the boost gauge that comes with RS's and now its only boosting to in between .5 and 1 bar... is that too low? i could have sworn it was boosting almost to 1.5 when it was stock...

thanks guys
Sean

correct me if im mistaken but isnt 1 bar equal about 14 psi? and ya you probably have a boost leak IMO get an aftermarket BOV or recirculate it again.

u have a boost leak, try to reinstall everything the way it was before u had the problem .
btw mitsu stock gauge sucks big time.

and why did uchange your stock bypass valve? for the noise?

if u are stock or are not planning to go above 25psi the MR bypass valve is your best replacemnt for the stock unit.

I like how boost problem ALWAYS = boost leak on EvoM
Are the lines still hooked up to the boost solenoid? Or do you have a boost controller? The solenoid could have a problem, mine did, and after 5 hours of looking for leaks, I hated the whole community that told me about checking for leaks and were SOOOO sure it was a boost leak... took 3 seconds to fix with a boost controller!

I have a stock 05 and i boost at 1.5 bar constantly...thats on a defi- link gauge. I cant figure out why people keep changing their BOVs to get that stupid sound...if you have the greddy recirculate it, it will probably fix a few problems. why increase boost with a controller just to compensate for the air you waste when you vent to atom???

just a thought.

Explain this, please... and if you really think it's the lack of recirculation that's causing a drop in boost (which has nothing to do with losing boost), then why not take the small effort to recirculate it again and tell us your results?

Sorry to be blunt but,......non-recirculate = gey ......period. Why fool your ecu? It already assumes that air will be there. The extra fuel that the ecu adds will put your 30k$ car in a crappy state of "un-tune".

Don't mess with it unless your using full standalone fuel management or a maft blowthrough setup. Otherwise recirculate it.
