Sad day

I just heard of this new cool 12 lbs ti exhuast by Magnaflow

Only to look on to their web site and discover it has the same lame neck down to the stock cat size pipe right where it meets the cat.

I have never seen ANY exhuast make decent power that necks down like that - neck down mufflers suck. They are very restrictive - kind of like a cork.

I was excited but now I am bummed out - I guess I am just a car crazy guy

The neck down sucks, that's for sure. Typical catback exhaust. Weighs 12 pounds and costs how much Al? Ours is 16 pounds, no reducer in it and is only $450. Hell our exhaust has already made 667 whp on your car, isn't that good enough

Welcome to the world of parts binning, and bean counters. :P

I'd spend the money and lose 0.25 a pound of rotating mass than worry about some 12lb. titanium overpriced kit.

I wouldnt say that...remember HKS exhausts ALL NECK DOWN to fit stock cat. I love HKS products but man, how do they **** that up!

Better yet, who would pay $550 for the Hi-Power and its MILD STEEL!!!!!!!! Holy huge rip-off batman.

BR does have the best lightweight exhaust for the money, and performance too! If he had a muffler that looked like HKS/Helix, Id have it

David - I was just trying to make a point. I love my Buschur Exhuast and would never change it.

I just find it funny how all these prety boy exhuasts all have these neck down pipes, e.g. HKS and Greddy which restrict the flow. I feel sorry for all my customers who buy these thinking they will make good power gains but the restrictor chokes off all the improvement in the flow.

I makes me sad to see all these companies making products which LOOK so good yet are compromised.

Honestly though - I am surpized to hear that your cat back weights only 16 lbs! I knew it was light but no idea how light it was ! Thats cool.

This is the exhuast I have - it really sounds good and as you can see no resitrictive neck down

Well I like it and you're a bummer Al
Still I like how it looks and not everyone has to pay the real price for it

Cheers and see you soon in PR bud.

Randy was the guy who told me about this unit. Thanks Randy

But when I looked at it and saw that neck down - it made me mad why all these exhuast companies are selling the goods with no gusto ! I say make it a real 3" exhuast all the way through or might as well keep it 2.5 "

Anyway - don't listen to me I am too car crazy after working on my race car all weekend

I heard the Magnaflows are made by JIC...they look practically the same!

I've heard very mixed opinions about the JIC products, but Magnaflow does have a superior warranty.

I've heard from a few sources that Titanium really isn't the best for turbo back exhausts because it's a brittle metal that won't take too well to heat and will break welds quicker than stainless or even mild steel.

Any truth to this? Any full Ti exhaust owners out there been using the same system for a long time?

Personaly - I like to try and buy American when ever I possibly can. This is one of the reasons I am very proud to have so many Buschur Racing parts on my car.

Seriously - and not to get too political - if things keep going the way they are in a few years the Chinese will own the USA. I know its a funny though comming from a guys who drives a Japanese car but - BUY AMERICAN

It was funny to learn that a magnaflow exhuast is made overseas - there goes another American job

I dont think the whole neck down thing affects anything b/c i have the HKS Hi-power and my car put down some good numbers on the dyno with just a few mods including this hks with the neck down. 285AWHP and 300AWTQ with HKS hi-power, UR testpipe, mbc@ 20.5 psi and crappy reflash, and this was done on a mustang dyno!! By the way im still running stock downpipe with these numbers

Sorry this question might be stupid, but that's how you learn...What exactly does neck down mean, and does the RS-R have it?(please say no, I already have it on my evo)
