Bov Help...

sup fellas,

well i just installed my bushur up/ic piping with a HKS ss bov and recirculation kit. my evo is fine on a straight away but when it comes to a turn or slow down to 2nd gear i guess it boggles alittle, it stopped on me 2 times this mourning where i had to restart the car as i was rolling.

i looked for write ups to help me but seems this link i found will not come up for me,
http://www.serioussolutions.com/evo/hks_ssqv.htm

i found it here.
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=75619

so i was wondering if anyone could lend me some insight to adjusting this problem.

thanks guys .

are you serious! see i have always loved the hks bov, i have it on my supra. i just didn't think i would have this problem. i mean i got the recirc kit so i wouldn't have this problem, but i did find a thread here-

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=131530

i found this little bit of info-

Next, you need to buy about 4 inches of vacuum hose since HKS doesnt include the smaller hose (stock is too big) and they just include the big to small adapter.

i wonder if this would help me?

I guess i will try the hose thing, seems cheaper for right now. but this really sux man. i thought it was going to be alright, but i just gotta fix that little thing and it would be perfect.

on here-Next, you need to buy about 4 inches of vacuum hose since HKS doesnt include the smaller hose (stock is too big) and they just include the big to small adapter.

i wonder what size for the vacuum hose?

by "sup fellas" im sure you meant fellas and laides right?!?! haha!
Anyways, I installed the hks ssq with the recirc on my evo and everytime i was rolling and pushed the clutch in my rpm would drop then bounce around and stall....IT SUCKED...so i took it off and now i have a type-s on there...seems to work a little better, i've been told to take out the smaller of the two springs and it will completly eliminate the problem....if you really like your HKS that much buy the kit for it ^^^^mentioned in a post above for like 70 bucks, and that will solve your problem!! Otherwise you could always sell it, loose your ***, and then have to buy a diff valve and rig that one to work!!
~just a suggestion!

yeah if you dont plan on fixing the problem it's more so learning how to drive with it, dont clutch your car at high rpms always get really low in the gear then clutch it at like 2grand and i've damn near concerred (spelled?) the problem, then again there are those f'n idiots who are slamming on their breaks for no reason and you have to clutch it and downshift, sometimes it will still stall in certain situations. But my car only stalls once a night if even that!
So spend a little more and fix it, or learn to deal with it!

well since you know so much about it how would you fix it, ive tried almost everything i could think of, ive recirced, eids, tune down, tune up(afcII settings) on my first one i messed with the screw on the back, and nothing, and just in case i dont press the clutch at high rpms even when im in a parking lot looking for a spot it happens, like i said if you have any suggetions by all means let me know im not an expert i just have tried what i know

If you have bought the EIDS kit, that should have fixed it, otherwise check all your vaccume lines?! You may have a leak somewhere? Also who tuned your afc?? that might be the reasoning ....the car may run lean at lower rpms or your mass air flow sensor could be causing the problem if there was some sort of leak and not enough air was being recirced....otherwise I would say try a diff valve, I had my HKS on and took it off right afterward, it was recirced, but i still had constant stalls....I never spent the money to buy the eids kit, i just sold it and bought a type-s did the single spring mod and now she runs cherry!!

I would say the eids kit would be your last resort, so check your lines, then if it still gives you problems I'd reccomend selling the HKS and buying a diff. valve that will work.

oh well if it's only happend twice i wouldn't really worry about it, if you have a hks on there and it's only stalled twice consider yourself lucky, and just try not to clutch it untill your at 2grand or so, and you should be just fine. If you had a leak it would stall alot more and im sure be very apparent!
