Buschur Just tested that eBay 02 housing and made 13WHP. I think I may try this and I would also like someone to post a link to to that Vendor who sells the Hotside that comes with the studs for $250?
Thanks
Thanks

Sorry, it is the RNR Manifold Testing thread by Buschur, he bolted on an eBay 02 housing and it not only added 2 psi but it added 13 WHP as well.

Um....to me it didn't look good.
However....there is a blurp in there about the o2 housing....thing is he couldn't lower the boost so 13WHP is probably due to 2 more lbs of boost:

Well no doubt that the power had to come from the boost, but when he raised the boost before it induced knock as oppossed to 0 knock with the raised boost on the o2 housing. I just hope that I can have the same gains from my Helix housing.
I'm still thinking about changing my housing out for the 10.5 housing. Right now I can't seperate my stock 9.8 housing from the turbo.

Of course we can't say this was due to larger hotside, but it probably was.
Also the gains resulting from stock turbo hotside upgrade are proportional to the existing mods, I have cams, mbc, ect and all I can tell you is that my gains were much more than expected.
The boost comes quick and strong, and holds - spooling improved too (I expected otherwise). Furthermore as a bonus the exhaust sounds much meaner, especially when the WG opens.
With the 9.8 in 1st gear my boost would hit 18 and taper to 16, now it hits 19 and tapers to 18 upon redline - much more HP in lowere loads. In other taller gears where mbc kicks in and opens WG, spool is quicker and the boost just holds so much better, you can definately feel it.
It wasn't that bad of an install, in addition to the tips on this thread, make sure you have 4 extra studs or bolts instead of 2, use the nickle anti sieze compound (had at an industrial supply), get a huge vice grip - the normal side one just didn't work good enough.
Weather stock or modded the hotside is well worth it.

Did my install this weekend, went great at least I thought. Besides having to do it twice because I had a Tit on the new 10.5 and no hole on the turbo housing for it to fit I had to grind it off. Other than that the install went fine. My problem is now when the turbo starts to spool 1 - 2 PSI it blows off and starts bucking like a wild horse until I shift and I stay away from the boost. I'm thinking I need to adjust the wastegate, but I never read of anyone else having to adjust theirs. Anyone have any pointers they can share. I went with the new single flapper, but fitment should be the same right Any help is appreciated.
